Project Details

• New 37,000 SF border station, including 5 structures, 2-story main building; commercial cargo inspection building; livestock inspection building; hazardous materials facility; and a waste treatment facility.
• Extensive demolition and new waste treatment facility.

Challenges

• Project estimated and completed using hard metric measurement.
• Provide temporary facilities for operating customs station throughout the many phases of demolition and new construction.
• Execute design which allows free flow of water beneath pavement without erosion.
• System of crushed rock, up to 20” thick, below the surface providing structural integrity.
• Recycled 35,000 cy of ledge at the site for supporting substructure.
